Our vision.

We electrify the roads. So you can charge on the go.

Evias – Electric Road System

Why ERS?

Speed up the transition to e-mobility. Slow down climate change.

Transport accounts for nearly 25 % of global energy-related CO2 emissions. Therefore, electric vehicles are the key technology to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.

However, there are still challenges for a transition to e-mobility. Challenges that electrified roads could help us overcome.

Driving range

Driving range

By electrifying roads, vehicles can be charged while moving.

Expensive batteries

Expensive batteries

It makes electrification possible without big batteries.

Recharging time

Recharging time

No need to find parking with charging, saving both time and parking space.

Charging infrastructure

Charging infrastructure

Prepares for the future of shared and autonomous vehicles since no stop-over time is needed.

ERS - Electric Road System

How does it work?

1.

A sensor checks whether the traffic lane is equipped with an electric track. If yes, a conductor – Evias charger – is connected.

2.

The track supplies energy directly to the electric motor and simultaneously charge the battery. The energy supply is up to 5x km driven!

3.

When the vehicle is overtaking or is at the end of an electrified section, the charger is automatically raised to a folded position.

4.

The electrical motor continues to run on the recharged battery.

Conductive eRoads

Electric alternatives vs. fossil fuel

Conductive eRoads – The best way forward

Conductive eRoads are the backbone of tomorrow’s charging infrastructure.

Dynamic charging is the best option that enables shared/autonomous electric vehicles to move 24/7 without downtime. No need to build big parking areas and take up land for charging. Conductive charging is much more efficient than inductive, it cost less, can deliver higher power and have very low energy losses.
