Sure, fast chargers work for trucks on shorter distances. But on electric roads, even heavy vehicles in long-distance traffic can switch to electric power - all to cut emissions. Sweden is in the lead, and four different types of technologies are competing for the expansion.

- Our electrical rail can be used for all types of vehicles. The plan for e-roads by Trafikverket focusses is on heavy transportation, but we feel that this doesn't look at the whole picture. Stationary charging is not optimal for taxi and courier companies, for example, where the utilisation rate of the vehicles is extremely important for profitability, says Evia's CEO Josephine Adorelle.
